Treating pain from impingement syndrome
Impingement Syndrome is pain that occurs when part of the shoulder bone rubs against tendons. This is noticeable when the arm is raised to shoulder height. If left untreated, the pain may become more severe and occur even when the arm is not lifted. While drugs can be prescribed to limit this pain, we offer drug-free services: physical therapy, massage, chiropractic, and acupuncture.
Associated complications also include swelling and stiffness. Rotator cuff pain and tendonitis are closely related to the pain from impingement syndrome.
Early symptoms are often ignored
- Pain persists even at rest
- Simple lifting and reaching movements are painful
As the problem intensifies, you may then suffer these problems:
- Loss of strength
- Consistent tenderness in the area
- Pain with all movements involving the shoulder
- Increasing pain at night
